HANGING SCROLL IMAGES

Hanging scrolls are a part of the preparation for guest tea service in the teahouse. An appropriate image is selected that the host decides will be of special interest to the guest. Often these are calligraphic in nature but they can also be paintings or ink drawings.

In keeping with Momiji-en's modern approach to tea and teahouse configuration, a photographic image may also be used, especially when presented in the classic form on a traditional paper scroll assembly.

The images presented here are all possibilities for that purpose and are fun to imagine hanging in the tokonoma for the guest's entertainment. Choose one you'd like to see hanging on your visit to the teahouse.
